NPQ Participant Details Update Form

Please read the below guidance on completing this form:

This form is to be used when you want to update either your name, email, school or a combination of all three. 

  • Please give your current information so that we can determine who you are and find your details on our systems

  • If you want to update your legal name you must update through your DfE identity account (please select 'I would like to update my name' in the drop down menu below to see further instructions on this)

  • However, you can update your preferred name, school information and phone number using just this form

Preferred name will be your name in Blackboard and used in correspondence with CoFE about NPQ.
Legal Name
I want to update my official/legal name:

To update your official name please follow the steps below.

Step 1: Please complete the fields below.




Step 2: Submit your request to the DfE by logging onto the DfE Identity portal:

Step 3: Once you have made this request please take a screenshot and attach the jpeg file of the request.

The DfE will need to manually review this request, once approved our system will update automatically. We will then update your name on Blackboard accordingly.

Please note, if this request is made after your Blackboard username has already been generated we are not able to update your username, we will however update your screen name to reflect the update.

Preferred Name
I want to update my preferred name:

If you wish to update your preferred name you can do this using this form. However, please note your NPQ certificate will be printed with your official/legal name. You must request to change your official/legal name via the DfE (please select I want to update my legal name above) if you want your NPQ certificate to have an alternative name.

Your preferred name will be used on correspondence from the Church of England regarding your NPQ and for your name on Blackboard. Please note, once your Blackboard username has already been generated we are not able to change it. For example, changing your preferred name will display your updated name to Delivery Partners, Facilitators and other participants but you will still need to log in with your previous name.

I would like to update my contact information
Please give us the details of your new email address, you must also update the Department of Education with your new email address by emailing:

continuing-professional-development@digital.education.gov.uk

Once you have received confirmation from the DfE that your email address has been updated please forward this email to edutech@churchofengland.org and include your first and last name so we can identify you.

Please note, the DfE do not need to be notified if you wish to update your contact numbers please complete this form only.
