Growing Faith - Network for Parachurch Organisations

Growing Faith is a national commitment to achieve a culture change within the Church of England, so that every aspect of mission and ministry is considered by what it means for children, young people and families. It comes from the vision set by the House of Bishops and endorsed by General Synod in 2019. It concerns relationships between schools and churches, and how these are developed to resource and support households to grow in faith together. The Growing Faith Foundation has been created to support dioceses and parishes to do this even more effectively than they do at present.

Who are we?

The network is a group of colleagues from parachurch organisations who have committed to meeting regularly throughout the year in order to:

Increase understanding of Growing Faith, the contribution their organisation currently and potentially makes through their work with families, schools and churches, and their confidence in sharing with those they encounter

Explore research together and learn from others in the field

Share their own work and disseminate information and resources to other organisations and directly to dioceses throughout the church of England

Engage in critical reflections and challenge with one another

How do we connect?

3x 90min per year on Zoom (facilitated by the Foundation):

- Monday 10^th October 11-12.30

- Monday 23^rd January 11-12.30

- Monday 22^nd May 11-12.30

3x 1 hr discussion hubs (peer facilitated - dates to be arranged by participants)

What are our aims?

We hope that:

Organisations working for children and young people through churches, households and schools will gather regularly and build relationships

We will understand the Growing Faith commitment and how and where we are contributing, and that this knowledge will help us in our work

It will be an opportunity to share our organisation's key resources and news through diocesan channels

We will learn together via shared research and evaluation of resources and methods

We will work increasingly in collaboration to support the spiritual flourishing of children and young people

Can I join in?

Yes! You are so welcome.

People who work within parachurch organisations concerned with the spiritual flourishing of children and young people are the main contributors to this network. Additionally, people working or volunteering in children's and youth ministry and schools, as well as those leading at diocesan level will find this network an invaluable opportunity to network and learn alongside colleagues in parachurch organisations, and to disseminate information and resources to the churches, schools and households in their care.
