Photography & Filming Media Release Consent Form

This form is seeking consent for a child or young person to be photographed and/or filmed for the purposes of participating in the photography, film or video content produced and published by the National Society.

The Children & Young People Filming & Photography Privacy Notice is provided by the National Society for Education (NSE) to explain what to expect when we collect and process your child's personal information in accordance with UK data protection legislation.

If children, parents or carers do not consent to photographs or videos being taken, the National Society will respect their wishes, and work with the schools to ensure the photographer knows not to take pictures of the child and do so in a way that does not single out the child or make them feel isolated. If a parent or carer consents for their child to be photographed or filmed, the child can still refuse at any point and the National Society will listen to them and not proceed with photography or filming. The National Society will never exclude a child from an activity because we do not have consent to film them or take their photograph.

I understand that my participation is voluntary and that I may withdraw my consent to be photographed/filmed at any time prior to the publication of the photographs and videos.

I understand that it may not be possible to delete images or videos that have already been shared or published.

I understand that members of the public will be able to record and reproduce the photographs and videos placed in the public domain.

I understand that the photographs and videos may appear on websites that can be viewed throughout the world and not just in the United Kingdom and that some overseas countries may not provide the same level of protection to the rights of individuals as EU/UK legislation provides.

I understand that my name and my school’s name will only be used by the National Society to know who can be photographed or filmed and to manage any withdrawals of consent, and that names will not be published alongside the photographs or videos unless otherwise agreed.

I understand that where the third-party data processors listed above are taking photos and videos, they will provide the data via a secure method to the National Society, and then not retain the photos or videos, nor use them for any other purpose.

Restriction on individual rights

The right to withdraw consent, or request erasure or restrict processing are limited, i.e., at the point when the photographs or videos are published or uploaded, the National Society may no longer be able to erase or restrict the processing of individual images. Consent must be withdrawn prior to publication.
