Music and CYP - a Growing Faith Network

Growing Faith is a national commitment to achieve a culture change within the Church of England, so that every aspect of mission and ministry is considered by what it means for children, young people and families. It comes from the vision set by the House of Bishops and endorsed by General Synod in 2019. It concerns relationships between schools and churches, and how these are developed to resource and support households to grow in faith together. The Growing Faith Foundation has been created to support dioceses and parishes to do this even more effectively than they do at present.
Who are we?

We're a group of people who work in music with children and young people. We represent a range of contexts, disciplines, musical genres and organisations, but have in common a desire to work collaboratively, learn from each other and improve the discipleship opportunities through the work that we do.

How do we connect?

We're currently working that out. At the moment we are scoping the need for and structure of a potential new network.

What are our aims?

We hope that:

  • We will  gather regularly and build long-term, supportive relationships
  • We will understand the Growing Faith commitment and how and where we are contributing, and that this knowledge will help us in our work
  • We will share our knowledge, experience, resources and skills for the common good of the group, and ultimately the benefit of the communities we serve
  • We will learn together from others and from our peers
  • We will increasingly see our wider studies and role through the lens of Growing Faith.
WWorking together means we are joining in with the national work of the Church of England, as well as committing to helping the children and young people we encounter come to know Jesus, creating a church which is younger and more diverse.
